LOGIN TO SAGRADER.COM
Students and instructors can access SAGrader using any web browser, at any time, from anywhere in the world.
START UP SCREEN
Your start up screen displays each course you are enrolled in that uses SAGrader. Here you can also edit your profile.
SECTION VIEW
After choosing your section, you'll see the list of assignments for the class. Here you can add, modify and remove assigments. You can also see summary data on each assignment, like the average grade. Clicking on a specific assignment allows you to view students submissions and their grades. Students use this same view to submit to a particular assignment or review previous submissions.
ASSIGNMENTS
Here's a look at the assignment for Chaper One. You can see a description of the assigment along with a list of submissions and grades (at the bottom). You can search submissions based on name, grade, or time submitted. In this view, you can see how Dave improved his grade over multiple submissions, ranging from 50% (first submission) to 100% (third submission).
PERSONALIZED FEEDBACK
After a student submits an essay, both the student and instructor are provided with a grade and personalized feedback. In this case, the student failed to provide examples of important works by both Marx and Durkheim. Using this feedback, the student may choose to revise their entry and submit again. This helps the students cover the material more thoroughly while improving their grades.
QUALITY CONTROL WITH CHALLENGES
Students can challenge any grade they feel is unfair. Challenges not only ensure quality control, but also allow students to interact with instructors for help directed at specific areas in the course material.
The instructor is notified of any challenges when she logs in and has the following options:
- Deny the challenge (if the student really did answer incorrectly).
- Send challenge to the developer (If the grading rubric needs to be modified).
- Assign additional points without modifying the rubric.
MONITOR STUDENT PERFORMANCE
SAGrader includes helpful tools to assess students' performance through the semester.
Compare overall performance on specific learning objectives to suggest adjustments in teaching strategies or emphasis.
SAGrader automatically monitors individual students' performance based on grades, number of revisions, missed assignments, and number of challenges. Instructors can identify students who may benefit from improved study habits.
SIMILARITY DETECTION TOOL
SAGrader checks for similarities to aid in identifying dishonesty. It detects similarities between each submission against every other essay submitted for the same prompt, including different sections and previous classes. If desired, you can generate a PDF to send to the offending student and/or administration highlighting where students submissions match word for word.
